Malaysian Cultural Nigth 2006 at Northern Ireland

(The Picture show that ALL Engineers inculde Electronic, Telecommunication, Manufacturing and Polymer Engineers)

Last night 30 March 2006 is Malaysian Cultural Night at Belfast. And this night is organised by MSSNI(Malaysia Student Society of Northern Ireland) Queen's University. This is the flagship event to promote our Malaysian culture and tourism to Northern Iraland meanwhile this is also a chance for all the Malaysian to gather together. Most of the Malaysia student here will study for Medical and Engineering at Queen as the good repetition for both field in the university. Secondly, all the profit of this night is going to The Anthony Nolan Trust which is a Belfast bone marrow transplant accosiation as the part of the charity purposes.

The ticket for the night is £20 as a member and this include of welcome drink, doorgift, a dinner in Wellington Part Hotel and some entertainment performances.

First i would like to commend on the welcome drink, for such a huge occasion the welcome drink should be red or white wine. But it is not, its just an orange juice. To bad.... Why? Because our Malay friends can not drink wine....

Then the doorgift which is a combination of the Malay "Batik",Chinese"Knotting" or known as "zhong kuo jie" and the beatiful Indian bangles. For this, i would say gorgeuos as they try to promote three big races in Malaysia which are Malay, Chinese and Indian.

And the dinner is served as below:
Starter:
Chicken satay served with an asian papaya salad.
(i would say is quite nice for the stater, especially the papaya salad very delicious)
Main Course:
Marinated Red Snapper with crispy stir fry vegetable with ginger and soy glaze
(it is a bit diffusion of chinese crusine with western food, served a big slice of boneless red snapper, baby potatos,a slice gralic bread, mix vegetable and boiled rice as well)
Dessert:
Tropical fruit salad with passion fruit sorbet
(the fruit salad is horrible, but the passion fruit sorbet is quite nice)

For the performances:
Opening Act: Faces of Malaysia
(3 different cultural dances molted into one modern music and topped with some Malaysia scenery multimedia presentation)
Musical Performance: Sounds of Malaysia
(Singing Malay classics called "Getaran Jiwa"by Malaysia most talended artist P.Ramlee and "Lagenda" by Sheila Majid, quite a lovely song but the singers not really perform well as the pianist accompany with excellent melody)
Indian Classical Dance: Bollywood Dance
(This is a vibrant and excitingly choreographed dance straight out of Bollywood. For me is the most excellent show in the night)
Musical Sketch: Hang Li Po
(An enticing love story with some funny 'take' in the sketch make the show more excited)
Closing: Indian Drums.
(The beat from 'dhol' which is a drum which is used for special occasions and festivals heat around the whole ballroom, and everyone is stand up and clap together with the tempo.Even some Irish, Indian and Committee also dance around.)

That all for the night, for myself i think is worth it to attend such function cause it might be my only oppotunity ever in my life. I enjoy it.....

Where are you? (RS Version)

Actually, I don't really know where are you guyz staying except Minhui in JB and Hooi in Melawati there.

About myself, I am in SEMENYIH! A place that anyone rarely heard of.
Just like when you tell some foreigner you're from Malaysia, you need to specify that Malaysia is Above Singapore.
Same situation here, Semenyih is below Kajang.

So this is my house in Semenyih!

Wa bungalow.
Cheh... this bungalow actually just makes more troubles.
When you have a larger space, you'll have more ants, rats and cockroaches...
Headache...
But nowadays saw those insects or whatever living thing run over I also no time to bother them.

Busying on my thesis writing, programming and experiments...

Die la die...

By the way... How's everyone... seems to be Me and Ah Han the one who DOMINATING this blog site...

Faster blog la everyone.

Tempted Coffee Liquor

Still remember those days we always rush up Genting Highlands for a coffee or drinks and then rush down back.
Life like that is awesome.
Cool wind, just-nice temperature,
cool friends, just-nice band,
and sometimes mixed with some idiots act and ideas.

Talking about Genting Highlands, I really missed the band from Phillipines in Patio.
A place to hang with nice music, songs and likely a hot liquor coffee...

I had tried several of those "countries" liquor coffee like Italian Coffee, Russian Coffee and France Coffee. Although, you will be shock by their expensive price... around RM30 per cup... likely 2 shots of expresso with some whisky, or volka or... depends...
However, I didn't have the chance to continue my "liquor coffee journey"... which i had aimed for a while... I planned to get one bottle myself...

Yep... Irish Coffee... kinda famous i guess but i never taste one before...

So what is Irish coffee?

A classic Irish coffee consists exclusively of hot coffee, Irish whiskey and sugar, with cream floated on top. Irish coffee can be considered to be a variation on hot toddy

The sugar is necessary for the cream to float. You can probably add some Nutmeg, cinnamon,etc... An alternative version, more properly known as "Bailey's Coffee", adds a shot (ounce) of Baileys Irish Cream to the mix, or may replace the whiskey with the Baileys altogether.

Will try to get a 700ml bottle... taste it and let you guyz know whether it is recommended or not...

p/s: sorry for eunice and sim sim, you are not in the picture, i cant get the picture that consist all of us together. Maybe one day we should take it, but have to wait woo, theng and me come back 1st ho!!!! hehe.................

Back to Rampai

It had been a long time we left the Rampai house.
A place where we spent almost 4 years of our life there, which is almost a quater of our life.

The friendship strength isn't getting weaker, and isn't getting dimmer.
The passion is still there as I can feel it.

But everyone of us are separated apart from each and another.

Furthest Ah Han, in Belfast, Ireland.
Followed by Theng and Ah Woo, in UK.
Others, like Ah Yin, Eunice, Hooi, SimSim, Minhui and myself...
"spread" around Malaysia.

Maybe this blog could be like a string to pull us closer,
even though living in different place, different weather, different situation...

Let's BLOG!

There are some parts we need to alter in this blog and need some time before it could settle down.
I'll list them down for a clearer view.

1.) Name: The blog needs a name of course and i think we should participate in this.
I am not good in giving names, so it is a "everybody" work.
2.) Address: The address of this blog can be changed. I temporary named it as a kick start to gather everyone in.
3.) Layout: Surely this should be Eunice, SimSim, or Hooi's strong field and top skill.
4.) Need a chatter box: I will make one soon for easy chatting and discussing.
5.) More: Obviously theng and ah boy rarely online and never involved in blogging before. So i think they should at least try or often visit to the blog we owned.
6.) Hmmmm... anything else? I can't figure it out now. Please leave comments my friend!
